Launching E.ON Next's EV Tariff

Designing an Electric Experience
Role: Lead UX Designer Team: Director of Research, Product Manager, Technical Architect, UI Desinger Agency: Somo Global I had the opportunity to be Lead UX Designer with E.On Next develop a qupte tariff joutney for a special EV Tariff that they were introducing to the market. Through research, ideation and wireframing, I designed assets throughout the website that would help support the E.On Next customer with their consdieration of electric vehicles. The Brief With the introduction of phasing out Petrol vehicles by 2025 and the government initiatives to be net-zero by 2050, E.On Next was faced with the challenge on how they could be a player within the electric vehicle market and how they could make a specific EV tariff for their customers. We wanted to gain a better understanding of what the appetite in the market was for electric vehicles and what the big questions were for consumers when they started their research into EVs. Approach Rapid insight to ideation, definition and execution of a wizard and tariff journey that helped support customers in the decision-making process for electric vehicles. Interviewed 20+ consumers in qualitative interviews to gain a better understanding of general attitudes and behaviours around electric vehicles, energy companies and the environment. From the research, developed an in-depth competitor analysis, and collected E.On App reviews from the App Store to ideate on how we could solve customer issues, created future to-be user journeys and as-is journeys From these insights of the interviews and research, I wireframed, prototyped and tested a wizard that helps support consumers on their EV Journeys. From the interviews we also found there was a customer need to answer those big questions around electric vehicles - so we developed a guide that helped customers choose the best EV for them, a page around tariff and a blog that served as an interactive FAQ. Stakeholder workshops As a team, we conducted stakeholder workshops to get a better look into the work they have already done with EVs and the customer problems that we were looking to solve.
